The Star
Dominic West as Det. Jimmy McNulty:Some of the best TV acting you've ever seen, and yet the only recognition he'll get is in the form of paychecks. I've got a call into George Freeman now to ask how much the dude got paid, but they've only repped him for a few months. I got no UK contacts to probe, a lot of good I am.

"ambition and anger"
Best Side Characters:
Boadie - loyal hoodrat/hopper with pride for his corner
Stringer Bell - the bad man no one can trust
D('Angelo) - The gangster who almost turned it around.
OMAR - The toughest gay gangbanger you done ever seen.
Kima - The toughest lesbian cop you done ever got frisked by.
The Bunk - One mofo who takes his job in Homicide serious as shit. Unless he's hammered.
Season 1 introduced the cops and the dealers, and made you realize how many murders can go unsolved in a city desperate for a buck.
Season 2 showed the union perspective, the commerce at the Baltimore docks, and the sources the local criminals turn to for the BIG drug shipments. (Palestinian Greeks?)
Season 3 unveiled the local school systems, how they let down the children they claim to care about and do everything for (though some get to them too late to be fixed).
Season 4 revealed the political system of Baltimore, the politicians, cops, congressmen, and spinsters that pick which issues they say they want fight for, then abandon their constituents when the Capitol won't throw them a bone.
Season 5...well...you can see it for yourself.

Is. Det. McNulty the UK Mark Wahlberg? or the rich man's Donny Wahlberg? I'm not sure...
