Here are some things (not) everybody can look forward to in the upcoming months:
1) Inauguration
2) Super Bowl
3) Groundhog's Day
4) March Madness
5) The Oscars
My point is, this blog, or my original vision of it, is no longer necessary. I'll still post stuff from time to time, but the amazing, initially inspiring tidbits of funnies and sexies that inspired the site have yet to be rivaled (namely, the "TOE JAM" video and the Steven Seagal sketch). There is no more original content I desire to broadcast, save for the occasional (anti-climactic) Thai massage story. The original series I wished to post is now on the backburner while "Untitled Dan Phoenix Com-Dram" is developed, sold, and airing on your flatscreen Sunday nights (if you can afford premium channels, sucka).
Meanwhile, you can always find good stuff at any of the blogs I have linked here, namely THERE IS NO THEM, which will hopefully have plenty of posts that are semi-derivative of my own warped sense of reality, humor, and purpose. Also, the Bill Simmons podcast is great, especially for locals who still get excited when they hear a street mentioned that they know (Cahuenga?! Far out man, I was just there like...a year ago!) If he only used more Oz references and less Castaway ones...but at least the most recent one comparted the Philadelphia Eagles to "Big Pussy" Bonponsiero from The Sopranos. My mind wanders...
Most importantly,
What should I call this com-dram, based on these failed working titles?
'Class of 01' (sounds too much like low-budget Sasha Mitchell sci-fi flop Class of 1999 2: The Substitute)
'The Legacy' (bland...and it's not even about that...WTF?)
'Better than Greek, The Skulls, and any MTV reality show combined' (a bit haughty, huh?)
'The Pledge' (already a weird Nicholson/Sean Penn film collaboration)
'Frat' (Just kidding, James, your show shan't be plagiarized since I still haven't read it)
'Boys & Girls & Booze' or 'Booze & Girls' (2 Guys, A Girl, and a Pizza Place Pt. 2? No thanks)
'Give Me Shelter' (ya know? cause college is the last real stage of a sheltered life?)
ANYWAY...the phone won't stop ringing, I have bills to pay, and in the words of Pink Floyd:
"Get out of the way, it's a busy day, and I've got things on my mind."
Guess which 2?
